It has never been quicker or easier to get to Baltimore. Transport to this part of Ireland has improved markedly in recent years. At Cork airport the new terminal opened its doors in 2006. There are lots of direct flights from cities in Ireland, Britain and Europe. The Swansea–Cork ferry service has been restored, with convenient overnight sailings between Cork and South Wales. The road from Dublin to Cork is now mainly motorway and the route from Rosslare ferry port has also been upgraded. The final stretch of road to Baltimore has lost none of its circuitous charm, but considerable improvements have been made here, too.
