The villages of West Cork love a party, but Baltimore and the islands have more festivals than anywhere else. There is so much to celebrate! The rich heritage of the Baltimore area of West Cork is explored in the Heritage Festival in April. Then the tradition of boatbuilding at Baltimore is remembered at the Wooden Boat Festival and the facts and myths of the O'Driscoll clan are extolled in June. The Seafood Festival celebrates the bounty of the sea. Music fills the air at the Fiddle Fair in May. Tales are told at the Cape Clear's Storytelling Festival and fish caught (and yet more tales told) in the Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival. There are sailing and rowing races to be won at Baltimore, Cape Clear and Sherkin Regattas. You can enjoy the countryside on a walking festival weekend or (for something much more athletic) run, swim and cycle in the Lough Hyne Challenge.
