Adventures in and on the water - these include whale watching trips, scuba diving, snorkelling, eco tours, angling and Fastnet sunset trips. Let us take you on the water, enjoy the rugged coast line seen from the Atlantic Ocean, on board the Wave Chieftain.
Boat trips twice a day, subject of course to weather and minimum numbers for eco tours, whale & dolphin trips plus dusk / sunset trips to the Fastnet - all during the boating season May to November. Sea arches and caves, cliffs, beaches, islands offshore and marine wildlife which includes humpbacks, fin and minke whales, dolphins, seals and ocean birds as well as basking sharks and sunfish.
West Cork enjoys wonderful red sunsets on clear days with spectacular skies - we travel to the Fastnet Lighthouse, great for digital photography enthusiasts or the romantic amongst you. On those clear summer nights sunset times obviously vary depending on the time of year and after the red skies go dark the bright moonlight guides us back to Baltimore harbour in time for you to enjoy a night cap in one of the bars locally.
Qualified divers will enjoy the many wrecks and reefs. Famous dive sites include the German U-Boat off Glandore, known also as the "U260" (depth 38 to 44 mtrs) or the largest wreck in the world "Kowloon Bridge" which sank in 1986 and lies in 19 to 36 mtrs (measuring 300 mtrs long).
Family snorkel trips to Lough hyne are scheduled for the afternoon to take you through the rapids where the ocean feeds the lake on an incoming tide bringing nutriant ridge oxygenated seawater intot he lake and with it a varied marine life unique to this location. Lough Hyne became the first designated marine nature reserve in Europe. All equipment rental is included as well as your personal guide/instructor.
