2022 Map of School Intergenerational Survey responses In 2021, students of local primary school Scoil Náisiúnta Ráth Mhór participated in an Inter-generational Survey, where they engaged with questions around ringforts in their area.  26 families participated.  Students and their parents and grandparents were asked about the location of ringforts in their area. This map indicates their responses.

2022 Map of Ringforts around Baltimore A selection of ringforts in the local area, extracted from Archaeology.ie, which has only the following classifications for ringforts: Rath for a Ráth or a Lios, and Cashel for a Caiseal or Cathair.

2022 Placenames Local placenames with reference to ráth, lios or dún. This map gives a sample of local placenames which suggest the existence of a ráth, or a lios, or a dún at some stage in that locality.  Some of these townlands have no written record available to us today confirming such a site.  However, the Irish townland name which was passed down orally, and was often only anglicised quite recently, is a good indicator.
