Whale Watch West Cork

Whale and Dolphin watching aboard Voyager and Liscannor Star along the spectacular coast of southwest Ireland and around the islands of Roaringwater Bay with marine zoologist Nic Slocum and one of West Cork's most experienced wildlife skippers, JJ Cotter.

In it's eighteenth year of operation, Whale Watch West Cork is the only dedicated whale and dolphin watching operator in Baltimore and one of the longest running whale and dolphin watching operators in West Cork. We concentrate only on marine wildlife watching and while looking for whales, dolphins, porpoises, basking sharks, sunfish and seals our guests enjoy the spectacular scenery of the West Cork coastline and the islands, frequently getting out to the iconic Fastnet Rock and Lighthouse during our tours. Many pelagic bird species are seen on our tour including skuas, petrels, razorbills, puffins, guillemots and of course the amazing gannet.

We stop at North Harbour on Cape Clear Island for refreshments during the second half of the tour. Cape Clear Island is Ireland's most southerly community and part of the Gaeltacht, one of the Irish speaking communities in West Cork. Steeped in history we have time to visit the old O'Driscoll castle of Dún An Óir during our refrehment stops on the island.

We depart at 9.15am and 2.15pm every day with 6am and 7pm departures during the summer. With two state of the art twin enginned catamarans, Voyager and Liscannor Star, we are able to get you out on the water safely and in comfort. Both boats have full marine toilets on board and covered wheelhouses. Both boats are fully licensed by The Department of Transport Marine with state of the art navigation equipment. Lifejackets are provided for every passenger on every trip.
