The West Cork 200 is a cycle run for serious cyclists who want to test themselves over a challenging 200 km (124 mile) ride through some of the most spectacular countryside that Ireland has to offer. The course, which begins and ends in Baltimore, takes riders down the Mizen and Sheep’s Head peninsulas, through Bantry and up the beautiful Mealagh Valley, before returning via Drimoleague, Leap and Skibbereen. Much of the route follows the scenic West Cork coastline. There is also a shorter 100 km (62 mile) course for those who might find the full course too daunting. Established in 2009, the West Cork 200 is rapidly becoming one of the highlights of the Irish cycling calendar.
